Policies

 

The Policies establish the commitment of ADPC to:

  • discharge the statutory duties on the Company as described in Federal and Amiri legislation;
  • manage the assets of ADPC ports safely, economically and efficiently;
  • train operational staff to the highest professional standards; and
  • ensure that emergency and contingency procedures for ports conform to International Best Practice..

The Policies also establish the objectives of ADPC as used to inform the development of the Port Regulations.

Navigation Policy

The Safety of Navigation is a prime responsibility for a port authority and the Navigational Policy is the commitment by ADPC as to how it will discharge its obligations to keep the ports safe for ships to use.

Pilotage Policy

Pilotage Policy is one of the main planks of reducing risks to ships using the ports by making the skills and experience of local pilots fundamental to keeping ships safe.

Hydrographic Information Policy

Ports need to have up to date and timely information available as to the depths, shoals, tides and  currents affecting each port in order to manage the vessel traffic and to provide users with the information they need to plan their passage through each port..

Vessel Traffic Service Policy

The VTS policy sets out ADPCs commitment to provide accurate and timely guidance and advice to vessels navigating in ADPC ports and how ADPC will fulfil those requirements.

Port Operations Policy

The Port Operations policy is about providing for a safe and efficient environment to carry out the landside of port related operations. It commits ADPC to providing the highest standards in the management of port operations
