We are incredibly proud of the inauguration of the spectacular Khalifa Port.

"I felt immensely proud as an Emirati to witness the inauguration of Khalifa Port"
Captain Mohamed Al Shamisi, Executive Vice President, Ports' Unit, ADPC
12/12/12 represented a milestone for the UAE, Abu Dhabi and ADPC as we witnessed the wonderful inauguration of Khalifa Port, our state of the art flagship, nestled next to Kizad - jointly forming the ADPC megaproject, destined to become one of the biggest in the world.
Khalifa Port is already a notable commercial success, having launched commercial operations at its semi-automated container terminal on September 1st, 2012, after Emirates Aluminium (EMAL) launched its dedicated berth in November, 2010. Khalifa Port is already bringing in revenue for ADPC and is already handling all of the Emirate's TEU container traffic, transferred ahead of target from Mina Zayed, the 40 year old port in the city centre. It is taking big steps to help transform the Emirate’s economy.
As the mandated Port Authority, ADPC has developed many ports since our formation in 2006 - from Al Sila in the far west of the Emirate to Khalifa Port in the east, 40 kilometers from Dubai. Each port is unique; ADPC recognizes this and is unrolling a powerful and successful programme of improvements and upgrades.
Customer Engagement is crucial. Our clients matter enormously. Reflecting this, we have launched the Port Community System to tie in all essential services offered by various stakeholders across our ports and terminals.
Khalifa Port is our flagship, with the only semi-automated container terminal in the entire region, and we have ordered 15 more cranes, including three more of the world's largest STS (ship to shore) cranes from the ZPMC yard in Shanghai, China. It will primarily serve as a gateway for Kizad's many new industries. With Kizad, it will help revolutionise logistics across the UAE.
Come and join us this exciting and challenging voyage!
